we are a new york-based community focusing on the lives of those scattered throughout the five boroughs. as the most populated city in the united states, nyc is an ever-growing cultural melting pot, housing all races, religions, ethnicities, and social statuses. waiters to socialites, students to entrepreneurs - millions brush elbows every day on the bustling streets. if you're craving a community that thrives on social interaction, fresh activities, and diversity, look no further. we're here to bring back the glory days of game nights, comm-wide activities, and fun galore.
to apply, you need not write a thesis. character development isn't something that always comes quickly or easily - that's okay! that's also why we're striving to make your creative process as painless as possible. don't stress about predetermined lines or outlining every last detail. keep it simple. we only ask that your pb is 18+ and within five years of your character's age.
here's what you need:journals usernames should be ooc; no underscores, no excessive letters. at least one icon is required at the time you apply.
information a short blurb or basic list of facts (in a backdated post) is enough for us. as long as the basics - name, age, occupation, etc. - are included, you're in the clear.
friends only please make sure that you have a backdated friends only post before applying. it's up to you if you'd like to disable anonymous comments or leave it open to all.
examples only 2 examples are required: one scene and one narrative.
at this time, we ask that you keep your characters limited to two. as time progresses, we may reevaluate this on an individual basis. additionally, please note that overrides will not be permitted.
here at ~times, we understand that real life comes first. expecting everyone to be around 24/7 is unrealistic and does a better job of driving new members away than recruiting them. in order to promote a laid-back, low-stress atmosphere, our activity requirements are simple: 1) make one interactive OR private substantial post and 2) comment on the monthly mod post.
1 your monthly activity may be posted either in your journal or in ~stubhub - our random post community. it may come in the form of whatever you wish - an instagram post (single or full-page), a playlist, ffa posts, etc. as long as comments are enabled and you respond to them, it counts! narratives will also be accepted for activity, but we ask that if you decide to post a narrative, you also post one interactive post in order to keep the fp moving. you need only turn in one link to be checked off for activity, but please try your best to follow this guideline for the overall dynamic of the game.
2 the monthly mod post is a simple check-in that will be posted in ~stubhub on the third friday of every month. members will be given until the following saturday to respond. anyone who fails to do so - and is not on hiatus/exempt - will be removed.
you may keep track and drop off your activity here simple enough, right? we think so too.

hiatuses hiatuses are to be no longer than 5 weeks. at the end of your hiatus period, you are expected to comment with your update/interaction post. extensions requesting an extension will provide you with an additional week (7 days) to provide activity. under normal circumstances, extensions will not be granted for back-to-back activity periods.
pb changes feeling like your pb doesn't fit your character? drop us a line. we have no issue with changing more than once, however, we ask that you please keep your current face for at least a week before making any decisions. please wait for a response from the mods before changing icons, etc. journal changes just like above, please wait for a response from the mods before officially moving things over.
if you feel uncomfortable, harassed, etc. for any reason whatsoever, please do not hesitate to let us know. we want all of our members to feel as safe and welcomed as possible and will not tolerate deliberate attacks.
